In six months of war on Gaza since the 7 October attacks on Israel by Palestinian armed groups, children and families across the Gaza Strip have faced relentless Israeli airstrikes and ground operations. Nowhere is safe and nowhere left untouched.

Almost every child who has managed to survive the past months of bombardment in Gaza is now in the line of fire in Rafah. The lives of more than 1.3 million people, including 610,000 children, hang in the balance, as the Government of Israel prepares to expand its military operations in Rafah.

Since the start of the war in October, families have been forced from their homes further and further south, into smaller and smaller areas, with no guarantee of safety and limited access to the very basics. The majority are now in Rafah, trapped in an area of less than a fifth of Gaza's total land mass, with nowhere left to flee. Families, including young children, are crammed into a mere 62 sq km, sleeping in makeshift tents or in the open air due to the scarcity of shelter. But with threats of military expansion into an already precarious area of Gaza, children and their families could face the deadliest and most destructive chapter of this conflict yet.

Nearly all children in Gaza are at imminent risk of famine. Everyone in Gaza is now at risk of famine and facing crisis levels of food insecurity or worse.

Please donate today to children in crisis in Gaza and around the world, where the needs are the biggest and most urgent.
