HELP CHILDREN in crisis

ALL UKRAINIAN CHILDREN ARE IN GRAVE DANGER NOW

The reports of children killed in the conflict in Ukraine shows that every war is a war against children. For almost every second of war that passes, a child in Ukraine becomes a refugee.

Save the Children is in Ukraine providing essential humanitarian aid including cash, food, hygiene items and blankets to support children and their families.

As the situation in Ukraine impacts global food security, donations to our Children’s Emergency Fund are crucial to save children's lives. This is not just another news story: these are children lives at stake.

They are on the frontline of an unprecedented global humanitarian crisis and their right to survival, protection and education is under immediate threat. And there’s no end in sight.

We must act now to protect children’s lives and to support their recovery. They are in desperate need of care and protection. Don’t let them suffer a lifetime of war.

Donate to our Children’s Emergency Fund today to help protect children living through conflict. Our Child Emergency Fund allows us to respond wherever the need is greatest. It helps us to reach children quickly with the essentials they need to survive.  Donate to save the lives of children in crisis.

"THE CHILDREN DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT'S HAPPENING"

Anna*, 29, has fled to Romania with her four-year-old daughter Daryna* and two-year-old son Danilo*. They fled their home in Ukraine when fighting approached a nuclear power station, alongside Anna’s sister and mother.

Anna said: “We fled because we were scared. There was bombing in the area. The airport had been bombed and fighting was getting near to a nuclear power station.

“On the way we saw planes overhead and the roads were very busy. We saw rockets being fired and destroying buildings. There were sirens blaring constantly. My husband stayed behind. He drove us to the border before going back. We could only bring a few clothes and some medicines.

“The children don’t understand what’s happening. But we feel very bad.”

HOW YOUR DONATION CAN HELP

The outlook for children in 2022 is stark. Today, 1 in 6 children - more than 450 million children worldwide - are living in war zones the world has all but forgotten in places like Syria, Yemen and Myanmar. This is the highest number in more than 20 years.

Right now, the world is witnessing a global hunger crisis on a scale we've never seen before. Children in the Sahel, Madagascar and Malawi are so hungry they cannot concentrate in school. No child deserves to be hungry.

In times of humanitarian crises, when children are at their most vulnerable, Save the Children is there. What we do?

- Deliver winter kits and hygiene kits.

- Give cash grants to families so they can meet basic needs such as food, rent and medicines.

- Provide access to save, inclusive education.

- Support children to overcome the mental and psychological impact of the conflict.

- Providing basic non-food items and outreach services for refugees arriving to neighbouring countries.

Please give to our Child Emergency Fund to allow us to respond wherever the need is greatest to reach children quickly with the essentials they need to survive.
